I realize from the title of this post that my reading plans for the month are not likely to make much sense, but I WILL EXPLAIN.
I typically try to just read a certain type of book. This is for very good reasons such as, I know that I love fantasy so I generally look for books in this genre or close to it.
Okay, that’s really the main reason.
But lately I’ve been feeling a bit burnt out from some of the reading expectations I’ve been putting on myself. So I kind of acted out in April and read books I normally wouldn’t. And you know what? It was awesome. It was fun to just throw my typical reading restrictions out the window and just pick stuff up on a whim.
Now, this will not stop me from making a TBR list though. But the books on this list are going to be more varied than usual…
Romanov by Nadine Brandes – This book comes out on May 7th so I’m planning on having it read before then since I have the eARC. I have started it and I am enjoying it! It has more of a historical setting, which is definitely different for me.
Wildflower by Drew Barrymore – Okay, I know she says this isn’t, but this is basically a memoir. She tells a bunch of stories from when she was younger and I’ve already started the audiobook. She’s a great narrator and this is just fun so far to be honest.
I’ve also decided to participate in the Shelf Love Crate Readathon this month.
I never do readathons but this one looks like a lot of fun so I’ve decided that I want to give it a try. Plus, I’m going to even pick my books to correspond with some of the readathon challenges!
Written in the Stars – A Book Set in Space | I’ve wanted to read Zenith for a long time and I have it on my shelf so I decided it would be a good candidate for the first challenge in the #SLCReadathon.
Magic and Mischief – A Book with Magical Creatures | This book probably doesn’t technically count for this challenge. It is all about mermaids but it takes a scientific approach to them instead of a magical one. However, I feel like it’s close enough that I can count it. I mean. Mermaids. Plus, I’m half way through this and would like to finish it since it’s amazing. I keep getting distracted by other books though!
