The Cookie Book Tag | BUT WHY IS THERE NO CAKE

Who doesn’t love sweets? I mean, seriously. They are DELICIOUS. I love them. Cupcakes got me through finals senior year of high school. (Thanks, Mom!) Anyhow, I don’t usually participate in book tags and no one has actually tagged me in this… But who cares?

Alas, this book tag does not include cake. Maybe I shall make one myself with cake? Ooooo. That’s thought. *goes to plan things for the blog* For now though, this tag will do. It really was a fun one though and cookies are so yummy.

I originally saw this tag at PaperFury but this tag was created by Sorry I’m Booked. And I am so excited to do this and share it with y’all. So without further ado…

Chocolate Chip: A Classic Book That You Love or Really Enjoyed

This is so hard to choose. I’m going to just rule out The Lord of the Rings because y’all already know that it’s one of my favorites and go for one I don’t talk about as much. So that brings us to Dracula by Bram Stoker. Such an amazing book and I love the style it’s written in!

Thin Mints: A Fandom That You Really Want to ‘Join’ AND/OR a Hyped-Up Book You Want To Read

I AM SO BEHIND IN READING. THIS IS A CRUEL QUESTION. Seriously though? I think one of the books I really am interested in reading most that I want to love and join y’all in flailing about is Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi.

Shortbread: An Author You Can’t Get Enough Of

John Flanagan. Hands down. I have read the entire Ranger’s Apprentice series (twelve books) and I’ve been following his new Ranger series as well. I need to read The Brotherband Chronicles too. I own almost the entire series and I have only read the first book. I have been reading his books for the last decade. They’re awesome!

Samoas/ Caramel DeLites: An Emotional Rollercoaster

This one could only go to one book for me: Frozen Tides by Morgan Rhodes. Goodness. This was intense. There just aren’t words to describe it. I listened to the audiobook and was going CRAZY in a twitter DM with two friends who had recently read the book/were currently reading it.

Oreos: A Book Whose Cover Was Better Than The Story OR Vice Versa, Where The Story Was Better Than Its Cover

First of all: I LOVE OREOS. They are one of my favorite cookies and so tasty. However, for this one I have to list Reign of Shadows by Sophie Jordan. I just felt so… meh about this book. I mean, I didn’t even review it because I just didn’t know what to say about it. The cover is so pretty but the story just wasn’t everything I’d hoped for.

Tagalongs/ Peanut Butter Patties: A Book That Wasn’t What You Expected

I don’t think I knew what I was expecting when it came to Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff but it wasn’t what I got. This book was absolutely amazing and the audiobook was brilliant. I never would have guessed that I would love this book as much as I did. I need to finish reading this series! I am on the wait list at the library for the Obsidio audiobook so it’ll be a while longer.

Snickerdoodles: A Book You May Never Stop Rereading/ Loving

This one is going to have to go to The Ruins of Gorlan by John Flanagan. I have read this book at least seven times and loved it every. single. time. I can’t get enough of this series and this remains one of my favorite books in it.

Soft Sugar Cookies: A Book Just as Good as it Sounds

I cannot shout about this book enough. Contagion by Erin Bowman is simply fantastic. I was hooked the moment I heard about it. This book pulled me out of a year-long reading slump. This book is INTENSE y’all and I cannot wait for the sequel, Immunity, this year.

What books would you put in these categories? Did you do the cookie book tag? Have you read any of the books I listed? Let me know!
