Giveaway & Epic Praise for AND I DARKEN

I was pretty inactive in June and by pretty inactive I mean, totally and completely. I thought about blogging but didn’t end up doing any of it. However, the last 10 days or so of June were pretty cool, partly because And I Darken by Kiersten White finally came out on June 28th.

Unfortunately, I haven’t finished reading my ARC of And I Darken yet, but I am working on it and really enjoying it. Lada is nothing less than fierce. While I don’t have much to say about it yet, there are others who do and I wanted to share some of the praise that it has received.

Penguin Random House sent me some quotes to read/share and these are three of my favorites (but I sort of love almost all of them):

“AND I DARKEN is Kiersten White at her absolute best. The epic story will thrill you, the Transylvanian setting will transport you, and the characters (especially the fierce, take-no-prisoners Lada) will capture your heart. Don’t miss it.” —Cynthia Hand, New York Times bestselling author of the Unearthly series

“As richly complex and glittering as the Ottoman Empire itself, AND I DARKEN is daring in its scope and brilliantly executed. The fiercely dark Lada is a razor-edged sword tempered in the blood of family betrayals and the fire of her own passions. I was instantly and utterly smitten. She haunted me long after I turned the final page and left me craving more.” —Robin LaFevers, New York Times bestselling author of the His Fair Assassin series

“Full of sword fights, assassination plots, and palace intrigues, this novel is ambitious in scope and concept and reveals a fascinating, important, and somewhat obscure slice of history…the novel is breathtakingly good.” — School Library Journal starred review

Ooh, thank you for the giveaway! Every since I saw raving reviews going around the web, I’ve been interested in And I Darken. I also don’t see the Ottoman Empire as a setting very often. The anithero(or at least think the MC is?) and it being a fantasy just sold it for me.
