Bookish Superlatives

Posted August 24, 2013 by Stephanie in General / 4 Comments

Yes, I have another fun post because of Jamie at The Perpetual Page Turner. I would just like to add that she is super creative! These posts are so much fun to read and write!

Here’s today’s explanation from Jamie’s blog:

While I was making my Meet YA Jamie post I was perusing through my yearbooks obviously and had to chuckle at the senior superlatives. This week I’m using the notion of “senior superlatives” from our yearbooks and making some for you to award books and characters!

So here we go! There are two sets of superlatives. A character set, and a book set.

Most Likely to Change the World
No matter how many characters I go through, I always seem to come back to Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games trilogy.
Cutest Couple
I’d have to go with Lenzi & Alden from Shattered Souls or Logan & Maddie from The Summer I Became a Nerd.
Class Clown
Seth from the Fablehaven series. Need I say more?
Most Likely to Become Famous for their Athletic/Musical/Artistic Abilities
Celaena from Throne of Glass – she’s definitely a woman of many talents.
All Around Good Person
Tessa from The Infernal Devices
Biggest Flirt
Ian from How Zoe Made Her Dreams (Mostly) Come True, hands down.
Most Likely to be Fought Over
I have to go with Maxon from The Selection. He’s handsome and just oblivious enough to indulge his admirers just enough to make them crazy.
Most Likely to be Friends Forever
Will and Horace from the Ranger’s Apprentice series. Trust me, guys. They can get through anything.
Most Likely to Have Their Own Reality Show
Berry from Spies and Prejudice
Most Unique
Anna Van Housen from Born of Illusion – she’s basically an expert magician, how do you compete with that?
Most Likely to Survive an Apocalypse
I’d have to agree with Jamie, Lynn from Not a Drop to Drink would wipe the floor with the rest of her contenders.
Most Likely to be a Villain
The Wicked Queen from Fairest of All: A Tale of the Wicked Queen – this version of the Wicked Queen starts off as a kind, good person, much like most people do. Then she warps herself into something evil.
Biggest Wallflower
Carter from The Kane Chronicles – he’s just one of those people who need someone lively in their life.
Most Likely to Break Your Heart
Gale from The Hunger Games – he just isn’t that sensitive people.
Most Changed
I’d have to go with Marina from Arclight here. Every aspect of her changed.
Most Likely to Get Arrested
Jackal from The Eternity Cure – maybe not quite a villain but he’d definitely have his share of jail time.
Self-Proclaimed God/Goddess
Again, I have to agree with Jamie here, no one does this like Jace from The Mortal Instruments.
Best Person to Bring Home to Mom and Dad
Jem from The Infernal Devices – I’m in love with him. He’s just so perfect.
Most Likely to Make You Cry
The last 60 pages had me choked up and, I will admit, I cried a little. I’m so glad it was midnight when I finished this.
Dares to be Different (in world, plot, storytelling, etc.)
A book with puppets as some of the most dominant characters? Very different.
Best Dressed (pretty cover!)
I haven’t read this series but I am in love with this cover.
Most Likely to Make you Swoon
Seriously, this book has some of my all-time favorite quotes.
Loveliest Prose
Tolkien’s writing is just so beautiful. Trust me. Pay attention as you read.
Most Likely to be a Favorite of 2013
I’m pretty positive that this will probably be my favorite novel of the year; it’s definitely my most anticipated.
Most Likely to Change the World (or change your life)
This scared me so much partly because it is so very believable. I just… wow. It was amazing but scary because it could happen.
Book You are Most Likely to Keep Putting Off
This one comes highly recommended from a friend and I’m interested in it but I didn’t actually want to read it that much….
Most Likely to End Up as Christmas Gifts for Everyone You know
I loved this book so much. It’s one of those books I want my kids to end up reading as well as everyone I know.
Most Likely to be Thrown
I’m not one to throw books, but City of Ashes is probably the closest I’ve ever come to doing so. But I can’t bring myself not to show you Impostor either. It was, after all, the first one I thought of. I could care less what happened to it. Another book for this category would definitely be Delirium. *angry sigh*
Most Likely to be Reread More than Once
I’ve already read this half a dozen times. This is my desert island book.
Most Likely to Make You Read Through an Earthquake because it’s THAT Engrossing

This one’s for you, Mel. But in all seriousness, guys. I could hardly put this book down.
Most Likely to be Passed Onto Your Children
There were so many books I could’ve picked but I’m choosing to showcase my love for Dracula. Although, I could have just as easily put Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, and The Lord of the Rings under this category.
Most Likely to Break Your Heart Into a Million Pieces
Not what you expected, huh? *shakes fist at Mindy McGinnis* How could you, Mindy? How could you?
Most Likely to Brighten Up Your Day
This book made me smile almost the entire time. Super cute!
So what would some of your choices be? Let me know in the comments or link me to your answers!

  1. I love your choices! I agree with you on Katniss – I think that girl could do ANYTHING, basically.

And yes, Jace is SO full of himself. Like, really.

    Lovely post!

  2. AHH The Mark of Athena will keep me completely engrossed through a tsunami even. I'll just get some waterproof house that's insanely strong.

I am currently reading The Summer I Became A Nerd and I am loving it! Logan <33

Best post I've seen all day! <33
